Hanyang Donates 100 Million Won to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] Mid-sized construction company Hanyang announced on the 10th that it has donated 100 million KRW to the headquarters of the Korean Red Cross to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and aid in damage recovery.
The donated funds will be primarily used to support Daegu Metropolitan City, where the spread of COVID-19 is rapid. The aid will focus on vulnerable groups such as the disabled, elderly, and low-income individuals who are more susceptible to the disease, by providing hygiene products like masks and hand sanitizers, and distributing medical supplies such as protective suits to medical sites.
A Hanyang representative stated, “We decided to donate after hearing that Daegu Metropolitan City, which has suffered the most damage amid the nationwide spread of COVID-19, is experiencing shortages of hygiene and medical supplies. We hope for the swift end of COVID-19 and want to support all citizens and frontline workers who are devotedly working on the ground.”
