POSCO Energy, Recruiting 10th Generation of University Student Volunteer Group Hope Energy
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO Energy is recruiting the 10th generation of the university student volunteer group 'Hope Energy.'
POSCO Energy has been promoting various social contribution activities targeting local communities where its power plants are located to practice the management philosophy of 'Corporate Citizenship Growing Together.' In particular, it operates the university student volunteer group, where university students serve as mentors to children at local community centers, as one of its representative projects.
Since its establishment in 2013, the 'Hope Energy' university student volunteer group has conducted mentoring activities through special programs such as tutoring, pizza making, and movie watching for children at 10 local community centers in Seo-gu, Incheon. The program has been highly popular, regarded as the most anticipated time for the children, and has been continuously carried out for 10 generations. So far, about 400 university students have participated in 18,645 hours of volunteer work, benefiting a total of 2,296 children.
Hope Energy practices sharing with the local community not only through weekly mentoring activities but also by participating in pop-up volunteer activities such as mural painting and furniture making with POSCO Energy employees. Additionally, there are benefits such as meetings with the head of POSCO Energy's Management Support Office to share employment and interview tips, and extra points given during POSCO Energy recruitment support.
The selected 10th generation Hope Energy members will be active for about seven months from May to November. During this period, they will participate in various activities with children at local community centers, including ▲tutoring and special activities ▲violin, table tennis, junior engineering classes ▲and job experience education. To celebrate the 10th generation this year, a special event will be held where OB and YB from the 1st to 10th generations can come together.
