Ministry of Foreign Affairs Receives 1.1 Million Masks and Other Quarantine Supplies Supported by Chinese Government... "Will Deliver Within Days"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 9th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the government is currently in discussions regarding the receipt of quarantine supplies to be provided by the Chinese government in support of the response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The supplies from China will soon be delivered to the places in need.
The Chinese support items include 100,000 N95 masks, 1 million medical masks, and 10,000 protective suits.
On the 6th, Xing Haiming, the Chinese Ambassador to Korea, met with Kim Geon, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and conveyed that the Chinese government intends to support the Korean government's COVID-19 response by providing quarantine supplies. In response, Deputy Minister Kim expressed gratitude for China's warm support during these difficult times.
The Chinese support supplies will be delivered to the necessary locations through the Korean Red Cross in consultation with the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
Previously, Korea had provided quarantine supplies to China in response to COVID-19, with support from various sectors including the government, local governments, private organizations, and companies within China.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Recently, support from Chinese local governments, private organizations, and companies has been progressing for us," adding, "Through such mutual support, Korea and China are jointly responding to the global health crisis, and we hope this will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries at both government and private levels."
