Daejeon to Newly Supply 'City Gas' to 13,000 Energy-Excluded Households
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will launch new urban gas supply projects this year, focusing on energy-deprived areas.
The city announced on the 9th that it has finalized and publicly notified plans to supply urban gas to 13,272 households, including those in single-family housing areas, and will begin related facility construction.
A total of 11.472 billion KRW will be invested in this year's urban gas supply project. The budget allocates 6 billion KRW to single-family housing areas where urban gas supply has been difficult, and 5.472 billion KRW to multi-family housing areas.
By region, the project targets 3,159 households in Dong-gu, 1,374 households in Jung-gu, 2,765 households in Seo-gu, 2,907 households in Yuseong-gu, and 3,067 households in Daedeok-gu.
The urban gas supply plan was jointly decided by the city, autonomous districts, and urban gas companies. If the project proceeds as planned, the urban gas coverage rate in the Daejeon area is expected to increase from 95.1% last year to 95.3%.
The city plans to steadily supply urban gas to about 18,000 households in unserved areas next year as well.
