Applications Accepted Until June 30
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Acting Governor Na Yunsu) is promoting a paddy field alternative crop cultivation support project to resolve the issue of rice overproduction.
Hampyeong-gun announced on the 8th that it will accept applications for the paddy field alternative crop cultivation support project through the town and township offices of each farmland location until June 30.
This project aims to increase the self-sufficiency rate of food crops other than rice by providing compensation proportional to the area when cultivating crops other than rice or leaving the paddy field fallow.
Eligible applicants are agricultural business entities registered as agricultural corporations, and farmland that participated in the paddy field alternative crop support project during 2018-2019 or farmland where rice cultivation has been confirmed at least once can apply.
However, applicants must apply for an area of at least 1000㎡ (no upper limit on area), and reclaimed land with existing alternative crop cultivation obligations, government-purchased stockpiled farmland, farmland receiving landscape conservation direct payments (summer), and farmland selected for the Rural Development Administration's new technology dissemination pilot project are excluded.
This year, the support unit price per hectare is ▲ forage crops 4.3 million KRW ▲ general crops (excluding radish, cabbage, chili pepper, green onion, onion, garlic, potato, sweet potato) 2.7 million KRW ▲ legumes 2.55 million KRW ▲ fallow 2.1 million KRW.
