Traders to Launch Over 100 Elite 'Hot Deals' with Price Breaks Within the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart Traders is launching 'hot deal' items that maintain quality while drastically reducing prices.
Traders announced on the 8th that following the 'My Sparkling Water' hot deal product released on the 2nd, they will sequentially introduce 'Healthy Mixed 10 Grains for My Body' and ssamjang (fermented soybean paste) within this month. Hot deal products are about 20% cheaper compared to similar products in the same category.
Hot Deal is a new price-breaking product line by Traders that guarantees quality and price. It is a 'PNB (Private National Brand)' concept of exclusive planning products, not 'PL', and is characterized by being about 20-30% cheaper than Traders' existing general brand products. Since the 13th of last month, Traders has started selling hot deals with frozen soups, king dumplings, liquid detergents, etc., and plans to release a total of about 100 items by the end of the year.
Each product is offered in limited quantities to increase product turnover, quickly showcase the latest trends, and provide a refreshing shopping experience, following the 'hit-and-run' strategy of warehouse-style discount stores. Also, since there are only about 20 'elite' items at once, customers can feel like they are treasure hunting. This differentiates it from the 'Traders Deal' exclusive planning product line, which operates about 100 items regularly.
Traders has maximized the characteristics of warehouse-style discount stores by newly promoting products that are popular in convenience stores but unpopular in discount stores (such as Paldo lunch boxes), or by developing products supplied to franchise restaurants into frozen ready meals (such as Moane Naejangtang and Yukgaejang), thereby lowering unit prices.
For example, in the case of 'Chungjungone Sunchang 100% Rice Gochujang,' by using rice from the U.S. and Australia, they were able to significantly lower the price while using 100% rice instead of wheat. The quantity per unit is increased by more than 20% compared to similar brand products, and the price is lowered. Along with the rice content, the proportion of chili seasoning is increased, giving the flavor a rich depth. It is suitable for all dishes such as stir-fry and soups.
Traders continued its strong growth of about 30% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of last year, and the hot deal line launched in early February has received positive responses from consumers, with sales up to twice those of existing NB products in the same category. Accordingly, Traders plans to continuously develop food, daily necessities, and home appliances that consumers frequently use in daily life to enhance Traders' brand value as a native warehouse-style discount store.
