'Generous Donation' So Ji-sub Donates 300 Million Won for COVID-19 Recovery
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actor So Ji-sub has generously donated 300 million KRW to aid recovery efforts from the damage caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
According to the international relief NGO Good Neighbors on the 6th, So Ji-sub delivered a donation of 300 million KRW that day. This donation is expected to be used for protective equipment support for medical staff working to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as essential supplies for immunocompromised groups and low-income families.
So Ji-sub has been a role model for many through his consistent donations and good deeds. Last year, he donated 50 million KRW to children affected by wildfires in Gangwon Province, and in 2018, he supported 50 million KRW for psychological treatment of abused children and aid for girls from low-income families.
So Ji-sub has also been listed as a member of 'The Neighbors Club,' a high-donor group of Good Neighbors that requires an annual donation of over 10 million KRW for membership.
