Wemakeprice, Rapid Increase in Sales of Ready-to-Eat Meals and Delivery Food
Wemakeprice Home Meal Replacement Sales Increase by 490.79%... WemakepriceO Delivery Also Rises by 41.7%
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Wemakeprice announced on the 6th that the sales volume of ready-to-eat meals and the sales of its delivery pickup service Wemakeprice O have significantly increased over the past month.
Wemakeprice compiled the total sales of products searched with the keyword "ready-to-eat meals" from January 28 to February 27, and found that sales surged by 490.79% compared to the previous month. During the same period, sales of instant cooked foods, a type of ready-to-eat meal, also rose by 178.54%. Sales of Korean food items such as instant side dishes increased by 12,569.14%, instant samgyetang by 321.06%, and instant soup by 76.45%. Convenient meals like ramen and cup rice, which can quickly satisfy a meal, also increased by 246.9% and 195.95%, respectively.
Delivery orders also showed a marked increase on Wemakeprice's delivery pickup service 'Wemakeprice O.' During the survey period, total delivery sales surged by 41.7%. By category, Chinese and Japanese food rose the most at 79.2%. Other categories increased as follows: Korean food and snacks by 59.9%, Western food and cafes by 42.7%, chicken and pizza by 39.1%, and jokbal and bossam by 8.9%.

A Wemakeprice official said, "During February, as people refrained from going out and more office workers worked from home, the eating habits naturally shifted to having meals at home." He added, "In particular, it seems that Korean food, which is eaten as a staple, is being prepared as ready-to-eat meals or enjoyed a lot as delivery food."
