[Breaking] Goyang-si Reports 7th COVID-19 Case... 30s Office Worker
The seventh confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
According to authorities on the 5th, a 36-year-old man identified as Mr. A, residing in Sinwon-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the same day.
Mr. A showed suspicious symptoms such as fever and body aches after returning from work on the 3rd, and visited the 'Safe Car Screening Clinic' at Deogyang-gu Public Health Center the following morning for testing, receiving a positive diagnosis that day.
Mr. A is an office worker at the Gasan Digital Center in Seoul and commuted between his home and the Gasan Digital Center wearing a mask, using the village bus and subway.
According to an epidemiological investigation by Gyeonggi-do officials, Mr. A visited a convenience store near his home twice, at 7:53 a.m. on the 2nd and 7:57 a.m. on the 3rd, coming into contact with convenience store employees.
Although Mr. A wore a mask throughout his travel, he removed it during the payment process. Two convenience store employees who assisted with his payment were classified as close contacts and have entered self-quarantine.
Mr. A is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment at Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Pocheon Hospital, and it is known that he has no history of visiting medical institutions or overseas travel.
Authorities are investigating the route of Mr. A's infection.

Mr. A's wife and children are also undergoing COVID-19 testing after self-quarantine, and disinfection of their home has been completed.
