Mokpo Coast Guard Temporarily Suspends Ship Open Experience and Tour Events
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Jung Young-jin) announced on the 5th that it will temporarily suspend the ship open experience events conducted for the general public and students to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local community.
Mokpo Maritime Police offers free tours and experiences of patrol ships to groups of 10 or more individuals, schools, daycare centers, and others who apply in advance.
However, as COVID-19 has recently spread rapidly in the Jeonnam area and infections have occurred, they decided to temporarily suspend the program, prioritizing the health and safety of the public.
A Mokpo Maritime Police official said, "Last year, about 1,450 general public and students visited and experienced the patrol ship open events," and added, "We plan to resume the events once the COVID-19 crisis situation enters a stabilization phase."
