Iran reports 2,922 new COVID-19 cases and 92 deaths
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] As the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) rapidly spreads in Iran, the number of confirmed cases has reached 3,000, and deaths are approaching 100.
According to India’s PTI news agency and others, Kianoush Jahanpour, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Health, stated at a press conference held on the 4th (local time) that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has been counted at 2,922. This represents an increase of 586 cases (25%) compared to the previous day.
Among the confirmed cases, 92 deaths have been reported. Additionally, Jahanpour explained that 552 of the confirmed patients have been declared recovered.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said at a cabinet meeting that COVID-19 has effectively spread throughout Iran and is a disease spreading in many countries worldwide, emphasizing the need for cooperation to resolve the issue.
