Gyeongnam Gimhae-si Selected as Excellent Institution in Innovation Evaluation, Secures Financial Incentives
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the '2019 City and County Innovation Evaluation' hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do, securing a financial incentive of 30 million KRW.
Gimhae City shortened the water supply pipe length of the Daedong Advanced Industrial Complex, which is being developed in collaboration with the nearby Busan Metropolitan City, by 9.3 km, resulting in a total cost saving of 46.9 billion KRW including national funds over 10 years of operation. In addition, by lowering the sale price, the burden on tenant companies was reduced, earning recognition as an excellent model of win-win cooperation between basic and metropolitan local governments.
Also, the city received high evaluations in areas of collaboration activation and proactive administration for projects such as ▲installation of a shared laundry facility for industrial complex workers' uniforms ▲promotion of the Gimhae-Changwon metropolitan transfer discount system ▲the circular self-sufficient village community Hyeonhyeon-jigi project ▲and resolving 30-year property rights issues through cadastral re-survey. This evaluation was conducted by an evaluation team touring 18 cities and counties in the province, performing face-to-face assessments on 11 indicators across three categories: ▲collaboration activation ▲social value innovation ▲discovery and sharing of innovation cases, along with sharing sessions of innovation excellence cases by city and county.
