Recruiting University Student Mentees for ICT Mentoring Program... 1.3 Million KRW Support per Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 4th that it will recruit mentors and mentees for the 2020 ‘ICT Mentoring’ program and begin accepting project submissions.
The ICT Mentoring program supports teams consisting of industry experts (mentors) in the fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Software (SW) and university students (mentees) to carry out practical projects. Since its inception in 2004, it has supported over 50,000 mentees cumulatively over 17 years.
In 2020, the program will specialize by track, including Haneum (free-topic type), Pro Bono (social contribution type), and Frontier (innovative technology fields such as artificial intelligence), supporting approximately ,000 mentees and over 400 mentors.
Mentees can receive support up to 1.3 million KRW per project for necessary expenses such as material costs and development server usage fees. Support is also provided for registering outcomes such as publishing papers and registering programs or apps. The employment concert for mentees, which received favorable responses last year and includes employment consulting and mock interviews, is planned to be expanded to two sessions in 2020.
Mentors and mentees wishing to participate in projects can apply through the Haneum website (www.hanium.or.kr) from March 15 to April 14. During this period, project submissions and team matching will also take place. The final support recipients will be confirmed through project approval review at the end of April.
