Authorities: "Lee Man-hee personally paid for COVID-19 test... Result confirmed as 'Negative'" (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Jung Eun-kyung, Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, stated on the 2nd, "Lee Man-hee, Chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, has undergone testing for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and it has been confirmed that the result was negative."
Director Jung said at the regular COVID-19 briefing that day, "We received information from the (Shincheonji) church," adding, "It has also been confirmed that (Chairman Lee) requested the test from a commissioned testing agency and paid for the test himself."
The Shincheonji side announced that Chairman Lee underwent a COVID-19 diagnostic test on the 29th of last month and received a negative result on that day. Chairman Lee also announced that he would hold a press conference at around 3 p.m. at the Palace of Peace in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province.

Director Jung stated, "If contacts or risks related to (Chairman Lee) are identified, testing can be instructed or requested," and added, "We will assess the level of risk or exposure to determine the appropriate measures."
