KOSPI Recovers to 2000 Level... Intraday Reversal to Rise from 1960 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 2nd, the KOSPI fell to the 1960 level but recovered to 2000.
As of 10:33 a.m. that day, the KOSPI was at 2002.20, up 15.19 points (0.76%) from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 1997.03, up 10.02 points (0.50%) from the previous trading day, then dropped to 1969.34 at 9:41 a.m., reaching the 1960 level, but reversed to an upward trend from 10:20 a.m.
In the securities market, individuals and institutions net bought 180.8 billion KRW and 157.5 billion KRW, respectively. On the other hand, foreigners net sold 347.7 billion KRW.
By sector, chemicals (1.12%), pharmaceuticals (1.21%), and non-metallic minerals (1.22%) rose, while steel & metals (0.58%) and transportation equipment (0.54%) declined.
Among the top 10 by market capitalization, only Hyundai Mobis (2.14%) showed a decline. Samsung Electronics (1.66%), SK Hynix (3.3%), Samsung Biologics (1.4%), and LG Chem (1.77%) were on the rise.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ recorded 622.45, up 11.72 points (1.92%) from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ opened at 617.88, up 7.15 points (1.17%) from the previous session, dropped to 607.32 during the session, but has shown strength since around 9:47 a.m.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals net sold 61.7 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions net bought 48.0 billion KRW and 17.4 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, food & beverage and tobacco (1.34%), paper & wood (2.35%), and telecommunications equipment (2.11%) rose, while other manufacturing (0.63%) declined.
