On the 29th of last month, former professor Jin posted a captured photo of Gong's Twitter on his Facebook, saying, "Gong Ji-young, you have finally gone crazy."
He pointed out, "No matter how much you are absorbed in politics, is that something to say in this situation?" and asked, "Why did a perfectly normal person end up like that?"
Earlier, on the 28th of last month, Gong posted a photo on her Twitter showing the 'COVID-19 regional status' and the results of the 'June 13 local election for metropolitan governors,' saying, "Let's vote well."
According to the released photo, in the 7th nationwide simultaneous local elections in 2018, the metropolitan governors elected from the Liberty Korea Party (now the United Future Party) were only from Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The photo also contained graphics highlighting the number of confirmed cases and deaths in Daegu and Gyeongbuk in red.

This has sparked controversy as it is interpreted to mean that residents of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, who elected opposition party candidates as local governors, are paying the price for voting poorly.
