Dobong-gu Office Cafeteria Operation Temporarily Suspended... Preventing the Spread of COVID-19
From the 2nd, Dobong-gu Office Cafeteria Operation Temporarily Suspended...Visitor Temperature Checks and Hand Sanitizers Provided at Civil Service Office Entrance
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dong-jin Lee) will completely suspend the operation of the staff cafeteria starting from the 2nd to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The district initially planned to close the cafeteria twice a month to support small business owners struggling due to the recent spread of COVID-19. However, with the increase in COVID-19 cases, it was judged that having multiple people eat together in the group dining facility of the cafeteria posed a risk of transmission. Therefore, a preemptive measure of 'complete suspension of cafeteria operation' was decided.
Additionally, a thorough disinfection of the cafeteria will be conducted to prevent COVID-19.
In particular, about 900 public officials belonging to the Dobong-gu main office will rotate by department through the areas of Ssangmun-dong, Chang-dong, Dobong-dong, and Banghak-dong, using local alleyway restaurants to support small business owners in the area who are facing financial difficulties due to COVID-19.
Along with this, the district is temporarily restricting some entrances to the government building. Thermal cameras have been installed at two main entrances, with staff assigned to monitor them. Hand sanitizers are placed throughout the main entrances and the building to fully focus on infection prevention.
Especially, at the 14 community service centers, visiting nurses measure the temperature of visitors at the entrance for residents' safety, and civil service office staff wear masks while working.
Hand sanitizers are placed throughout the community centers, and disinfectant sprays are provided next to unmanned issuance machines to prepare for possible infections caused by fingerprint recognition during document issuance.
In particular, during lunch hours, staff members directly disinfect the civil service offices themselves, doing their utmost to prevent COVID-19.
Mayor Dong-jin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “With the rapid increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases and growing concerns about community infection, I ask all staff and residents to strictly follow prevention guidelines and actively cooperate to block community transmission. The district will also mobilize all available administrative resources to fully focus on COVID-19 prevention.”
