First COVID-19 Case Confirmed Among Inmates at Gimcheon Prison (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] On the 29th, a prisoner in his 60s at Gimcheon Prison in Gyeongsangbuk-do tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
While correctional officers have previously been infected with COVID-19, this is the first time a prisoner has tested positive.
Gimcheon Prison reported to the Gimcheon City Public Health Center that prisoner A (60) showed respiratory symptoms, and after collecting a specimen and conducting a COVID-19 test, the result was positive.
