[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu Reporter] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) within the military has increased to 26.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 28th, as of 10 a.m. that day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose by one from the previous day to 26. The additional confirmed case was reported to be an Air Force officer in the Cheongju area.
Currently, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the military are 15 in the Army, 1 in the Navy, 1 in the Marine Corps, and 9 in the Air Force, showing a sharp upward trend.
The military reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case on the 20th. A corporal who had taken leave from the Jeju Navy base to Daegu was the first to be diagnosed with COVID-19 within the military.
