Gyeonggi-do Operates 'Dedicated Mentor System' for Export Beginner Companies
[Asia Economy (Uijeongbu) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will operate a dedicated mentoring system for novice export companies.
On the 28th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out a project to support mentors with extensive trade experience for novice export companies in the province who are experiencing difficulties in export and import activities due to the recent spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The province plans to support a total of more than 100 novice small and medium-sized export companies, including 60 companies in the first half of this year. The province operates a 'dedicated mentoring team' composed of 18 export, trade, and commerce experts. They will provide consulting on all aspects of export work, including trade practices, marketing, and buyer discovery.
In particular, this year, to actively respond to COVID-19, the province plans to strengthen mentoring service support in the field of 'online overseas marketing,' which enables market development without visiting local sites.
This project is open to small and medium-sized enterprises with workplaces or factories located in the province and whose export amount in 2019 was less than 5 million USD.
Export companies in the province wishing to participate can submit an application form by the 5th of next month through 'EasyBiz (www.egbiz.or.kr),' the small business support information service of the Gyeonggi Provincial Science Promotion Agency.
