View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, is temporarily suspending the operation of representative local tourist facilities and multi-use facilities as the COVID-19 infectious disease crisis alert has been raised to the 'serious' level.
According to Wando-gun on the 28th, the tourist facilities include Wando Tower, Jangbogo Memorial Hall, Jangbogo Statue, Marine Ecology Exhibition Hall, Fishing Village Folk Exhibition Hall, Seaweed Center, Tourist Information Center, Bogildo Yun Seon-do Garden Exhibition Facility, and Yun Seon-do Literature Museum.
In particular, facilities used by residents such as Wando Swimming Pool, indoor Public Sports Ground, Farmers and Fishermen Culture and Sports Center, Culture and Arts Center, Small Cinema, County Library, Toy Library, and small libraries in towns and townships will also be closed for the time being.
The reopening date will be decided after monitoring the COVID-19 situation.
Additionally, cultural tourism interpreters and guides who provide explanation services at tourist sites have also decided to temporarily suspend their activities.
Wando County Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, "This measure has been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19," and added, "We ask for the understanding and cooperation of residents in efforts to prevent community spread."

He also stated, "As the number of tourists has significantly decreased, the local economy is facing difficulties," and "We will prepare and implement measures not only to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through quarantine but also to revitalize the local commercial district."
