Yang Jin-cheol, Former Deputy Mayor of Bucheon, Appointed as Head of Hwanghaeng Free Economic Zone Authority
[Asia Economy (Pyeongtaek) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yang Jin-cheol, former Deputy Mayor of Bucheon, was inaugurated as the Commissioner of the Hwanghae Free Economic Zone Authority on the 27th.
Commissioner Yang entered public service in 1991 by passing the 34th Administrative Examination. He has served as Policy Planning Officer of Gyeonggi Province, Director of Welfare and Health Bureau, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Secretary General of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Deputy Mayor of Yongin City, and Deputy Mayor of Bucheon City.
Born in 1962, he graduated from Yongsan High School and Konkuk University, and earned a master's degree in Public Administration and Policy Management from the University of Oregon Graduate School in the United States.
Commissioner Yang is expected to play a leading role in the development of the Hwanghae Free Economic Zone as an administrative expert with outstanding work ability and warm leadership.

Commissioner Yang stated, "Despite difficult economic conditions, the Hwanghae Free Economic Zone Authority achieved its best performance since its establishment last year alone, signing MOUs worth 185 million dollars with six companies, thanks to the tireless efforts of the previous commissioner and staff.
