Jeonju City Official in Charge of COVID-19 Found Dead at Home
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A public official in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, who was in charge of tasks related to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), was found dead at home, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 27th, according to the Jeonju Wansan Police Station in Jeollabuk-do, a Jeonju City Hall official, A (43), was found dead around 1 a.m. at an apartment in Hyoja-dong, Jeonju.
A was known to have gone to sleep in a small room saying he was tired after leaving work around 11 p.m. the previous day.
A was a public official responsible for COVID-19 related duties and was reported to have left work late the night before as well.
During the police investigation, A’s wife reportedly stated that her husband had been tired recently due to a heavy workload.
