On the morning of the 27th, at a press conference held at the City Administration Press Center, Mayor Heo Seong-mu explained the reason for the cancellation, saying, "Although we must consider the economic ripple effects of the Jinhae Gunhang Festival on the local commercial district, the life and safety of citizens take precedence amid the COVID-19 crisis."
This decision was made after discussions with the Jinhae Gunhang Festival Committee, taking into account public opinion opposing the festival due to the spread of COVID-19.
