[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is making every effort to manage employee attendance to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community and ensure the safety of employees following the government's upgrade of the COVID-19 crisis alert to 'Severe.'
The district has announced the "Local Government Employee Attendance Management Guidelines," which include prohibiting domestic and international travel, minimizing business trips, and strictly adhering to COVID-19 prevention rules and attendance management guidelines, through the Jungnang-gu internal administrative network and broadcasts within Jungnang-gu Office.
Additionally, a staggered working hours system has been implemented, with about 40% of Jungnang-gu Office employees, approximately 530 people excluding 863 essential personnel such as those in COVID-19 response and civil service contact departments, starting work at 10 a.m. and finishing at 7 p.m.
Furthermore, thorough preparations are in place for any emergency. Following confirmed cases in Daegu, Gyeongbuk regions, and Gangdong Myeongseong Church, 17 employees who are either members of Gangdong Myeongseong Church or have visited Daegu or Busan within the past 14 days have been proactively placed under self-quarantine. An emergency contact network for all employees has been activated to remain constantly prepared for any potential crisis.
In response to the upgrade to the 'Severe' COVID-19 alert level, Jungnang-gu has temporarily suspended all services at the Jungnang-gu Public Health Center except for legally mandated tasks such as hospital, clinic, and pharmacy registration. Additional health center personnel have been deployed to the screening clinic and Jungnang-gu COVID Call Center (☎2094-0800). A total of 571 facilities within Jungnang-gu have been temporarily closed, and intensive disinfection has been conducted more than twice at 1,313 key facilities including senior centers and religious institutions, with plans to continue ongoing disinfection efforts.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi stated, “We will take measures in accordance with the upgrade of the COVID-19 crisis alert to the 'Severe' level,” and urged, “Jungnang-gu Office employees must strictly comply with the employee attendance management guidelines, and residents are asked to thoroughly observe cooperation measures and prevention rules.”
