The Korea TOEIC Committee announced on the 26th that the regular TOEIC exam scheduled to be held nationwide on the 29th has been completely canceled.
The committee stated, "The government recently raised the infectious disease crisis alert to the highest level, 'serious,' to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, our committee has decided to fully cancel the regular TOEIC exam scheduled nationwide on Saturday, February 29, to prevent the spread of community infection and ensure the safety of the public and test takers."
They added, "We tried to proceed with the regular exam as planned with thorough quarantine measures to avoid disruptions to test schedules, including job preparation. However, considering the concerns of test takers about infection risks, requests from education offices across all provinces to suspend or refrain from using school facilities, and the reality that the health of all test takers and exam management personnel must be prioritized," they explained.
The committee plans to refund the exam fees or postpone the exam for those registered to take the test. The committee said, "For those registered for the exam on the 29th, we will offer either a postponement to a later exam or a refund of the exam fee. Detailed information will be provided on the website at 12 PM on the 26th."
