View original imageDirector Hong explained about the film's title, "I did not define it precisely. It can be said that it is about running away from oppression or dissatisfaction, but I stopped at the stage before defining the meaning of the film."
He added, "Before filming, I did not decide on the overall structure in advance. After shooting the first chapter of the film, what I wanted became a little clearer."
He continued, "I did not want to artificially create meaning. I followed the surface appearances and the flow of simple dialogues."
Director Hong's 24th new work, "The Woman Who Ran," follows Gam-hee (played by Kim Min-hee), who meets three friends from her past through two scheduled meetings and one chance encounter while her husband, whom she has never been apart from since marriage, is on a business trip. The film stars Kim Min-hee, Seo Young-hwa, Song Seon-mi, Kim Sae-byeok, Kwon Hae-hyo, and Shin Seok-ho.

Meanwhile, "The Woman Who Ran," first screened at the press screening at Berlinale Palast, the main venue of the Berlin Film Festival on the 25th, will be officially screened until the 28th. It is scheduled to be released domestically this spring.
