Confirmed COVID-19 Case Among Testers at Eunpyeong-gu Seoul Metropolitan Seobu Hospital Screening Clinic

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu announced that one resident (female, born in 1995, residing in Yeokchon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu) who visited the Seoul Metropolitan Seobuk Hospital screening clinic located in Eunpyeong-gu and underwent a COVID-19 test was confirmed positive for COVID-19.
The patient visited the Seobuk Hospital screening clinic on the 24th and received a COVID-19 test, and on the 25th, the test result came back positive.
The patient is an occupational therapist working at Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital (located in Gusan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu). Although her family resides in Gangdong-gu, there is no record of her visiting there since Lunar New Year, and she is confirmed to live with six colleagues in a dormitory (a house) near the hospital.
The confirmed patient is currently being requested to be transferred to a government-designated isolation bed, and disinfection has been completed at both Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and her residence.
Additionally, the outpatient and day ward of Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital have been temporarily closed, and epidemiological investigations are underway for contacts.
Including this patient, as of 1 PM on the 25th, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases related to Eunpyeong-gu and Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital is five. Patient No. 161 (male, born in 1985, residing in Seodaemun-gu) was confirmed positive on the 21st and transferred to the National Medical Center.
Also, Patient No. 365 (male, born in 1958, registered address Gangdong-gu, actual residence Eunpyeong-gu) was confirmed positive on the 22nd and transferred to Seoul National University Hospital; Patient No. 755 (male, born in 1964, residing in Gangdong-gu) was confirmed positive on the 24th and transferred to Chung-Ang University Hospital; an unnumbered patient (female, born in 1963, residing in Eunpyeong-gu) was confirmed positive on the 24th and is currently awaiting transfer.
Separately, among confirmed patients from other regions who visited Eunpyeong-gu, there are two cases: Patient No. 111 (a confirmed case from Mapo-gu, male, born in 2000) was confirmed to have visited the Daejo-dong area in Eunpyeong-gu between the 17th and 18th; Patient No. 627 (a confirmed case from Jongno-gu, female, born in 1970) was confirmed to have visited Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital and pharmacies located in Eunpyeong-gu.
Eunpyeong-gu plans to disclose detailed movement routes as soon as they are confirmed to alleviate residents’ concerns.

Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated that as additional confirmed cases related to Eunpyeong-gu and Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital have occurred, concerns about ‘hospital-acquired infection’ are increasing. She urged residents who have been admitted, discharged, or cared for at Eunpyeong St. Mary’s Hospital or Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital since February 1st and who have fever or respiratory symptoms to get tested at the relevant district health center screening clinics (Eunpyeong-gu Health Center Screening Clinic ☎351-8640~1).
