Boseong-gun Closes Multi-use Facilities and Senior Centers to Block COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] On the 24th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will close and suspend operations at 473 multi-use facilities as the infectious disease crisis alert level has been raised to the severe stage.
Sixteen facilities including the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center will be closed starting from the 24th, and 443 senior citizen centers will be temporarily closed from the 25th until the 6th of next month. Fourteen cultural, tourism, and sports facilities have also been decided to close, and this will be maintained until the severe stage is lifted.
Facilities excluded from temporary closure will control outside visitors and conduct frequent disinfection. In the case of daycare centers, a first week of home learning will be implemented, and the decision on whether to extend it will be made later. Additionally, integrated childcare rooms will be operated to minimize childcare gaps for dual-income couples and others who find home childcare difficult.
A county official said, “In accordance with the government’s response policy, we will mobilize all administrative power to take the lead in preventing the spread of COVID-19 to minimize local transmission,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that no neighbors are left behind even in difficult situations.”
