Gwangju City Establishes Women's Employment Promotion Plan... Creating Customized Job Opportunities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it has established the ‘2020 Women’s Job Promotion Plan’ and has officially started creating jobs where women can be happy.
The ‘2020 Women’s Job Project’ will be promoted with an investment of 4.1 billion KRW, focusing on three areas: ▲support for strengthening the capabilities of career-interrupted women ▲attracting customer centers and enhancing competitiveness ▲creating a women-friendly corporate environment.
Through this, the city plans to create jobs where women can be happy and provide stepping stones for employment to career-interrupted women.
First, the Women’s New Employment Center and Women’s Human Resources Development Center will provide employment counseling to 7,000 people and offer customized employment support services such as vocational education and training, internships, and post-employment follow-up management to strengthen the capabilities of career-interrupted women.
In addition, to attract customer centers and strengthen the competitiveness of local customer centers, active attraction activities will be carried out, support for training counseling personnel, and healing support projects will be promoted. Furthermore, efforts will be made to raise awareness of customer centers to support them in becoming substantial job projects.
Various projects to create a corporate environment where women can work well will also be promoted, including support funds for improving the working environment of female workers, customized startup consulting for women with small capital, mentoring for working moms’ children and middle-aged women, and employment support for women with disabilities.
In particular, the ‘Working Mom Children and Middle-aged Women Mentoring Support Project,’ which has been promoted since 2017, will be implemented again this year to provide quality jobs to middle-aged women and offer various services to working moms and their children.
The ‘Working Mom Children and Middle-aged Women Mentoring Support Project’ has received great responses by providing after-school learning support and meals at small libraries for children of working moms.
Additionally, the city will form the ‘Gwangju Women’s Happy Job Task Force (TF)’ with experts from various fields to collect diverse opinions and expand and discover Gwangju’s unique women’s job projects that can help the city become a ‘Gwangju good for raising children.’
