Gwangju City Temporarily Closes Citizen Forest Campground and Lake Ecological Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Green City Project Office of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that it will close major facilities for the time being due to the spread of COVID-19 infections.
The Citizen's Forest Campground, a popular facility used by about 35,000 people last year, will be fully closed to prevent infections among citizens, and full refunds will be given to those who reserved the campground.
Considering that the Gwangjuho Lake Ecological Park is a multi-use gathering place visited by an average of 300,000 people annually, it will be temporarily closed as a preemptive measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 until the 'serious' stage is lifted. The temporary closure will be announced in advance through the website, social network services (SNS), banners, and staff guidance to minimize inconvenience to visitors.
Additionally, three World Geopark Center locations, including the Jeungsimsa District, will also be temporarily closed, and the geological education programs scheduled to operate from this month will be suspended temporarily.
