Samsung Electronics Gumi Plant has placed A under self-quarantine and entered an emergency system, including sending employees home early.
Mayor Jang Se-yong of Gumi wrote on SNS in a post titled 'Dear Citizens' on the same day, "I am very sorry to deliver such unfortunate news. A confirmed COVID-19 case has occurred in Gumi as well."
Mayor Jang stated, "It has been confirmed that the confirmed case met with her boyfriend who attended the Shincheonji Church gatherings on the 9th and 16th. She is currently isolated at home." Gumi City is focusing administrative efforts on emergency disinfection around A's residence and identifying movement paths and contacts within the region.
