'Sugarman 3' Nam Gyuri Confesses Reason for Leaving SeeYa: "Lost Hope of Returning... Considered Immigration"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Singer Nam Gyuri, formerly of the group SeeYa, revealed the reason for her departure from the group.
On the afternoon of the 21st, the JTBC variety show 'To You Project - Sugar Man 3' (Sugar Man 3) featured SeeYa members Kim Yeonji, Lee Boram, and Nam Gyuri.
When asked about the reason for the group's disbandment during the broadcast, Nam Gyuri confessed, "At that time, it was very difficult and scary, I should say," adding, "The best we could do was to leave (the group)."
She continued, "At that time, externally, we were receiving a lot of love, ranking first, and had many fans, so we could have said we were happy, but we were young people in our early twenties who were shrinking back."
She also shared her feelings at the time, saying, "I had no hope of returning again, and I even looked into immigrating and leaving Korea."
SeeYa debuted in 2006 with their first album 'The Scent of a Woman.' The following year, in 2007, they won the main award in the digital music category at the Golden Disc Awards.
