COVID-19 Cases Surge in Gyeongbuk Region with 26 Confirmed Patients
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Gyeongbuk Province has increased significantly.
On the 21st, Gyeongbuk Province announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose from 9 to 26, an increase of 17.
This figure includes one death at Cheongdo Daenam Hospital.
Except for patient number 91 (female, 46, resident of Gyeongsan City), all 17 newly confirmed cases are patients and staff of Daenam Hospital. This brings the total number of confirmed cases at Daenam Hospital to 19.

In response to the increase in confirmed cases, Gyeongbuk Province plans to secure an additional 142 hospital beds on a separate building or one floor of the three provincial medical centers in Pohang, Gimcheon, and Andong, and isolate and hospitalize patients according to the severity of their condition.
