Ajou University Hospital, Emergency Room for Suspected COVID-19 Patients 'Urgently Closed'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Ajou University Hospital urgently closed its emergency room on the 20th due to the visit of a suspected patient of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The hospital conducted a COVID-19 diagnostic test based on medical staff's opinion after an X-ray examination of a patient who visited the emergency room in the morning with decreased consciousness, which suspected pneumonia.
Also, while waiting for the test results, the emergency room was temporarily closed around 9:50 a.m. and emergency disinfection was carried out to prepare for any possible spread of infection.
The test results for this patient are expected to be released around 4 p.m. on the same day.

A hospital official explained, "Since the patient was suspected, we proactively closed the emergency room in preparation for any situation," adding, "We will take appropriate follow-up measures as soon as the test results come out."
