SK Hynix Reports COVID-19 Close Contact Case... Icheon Training Center Closed
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] SK Hynix has closed the building of its Icheon plant in Gyeonggi Province after a close contact of a confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was identified.
According to SK Hynix on the 19th, one of the new employees who joined last week was classified as a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case that occurred in Daegu. After being contacted by health authorities, the company placed about 280 new employees who were receiving training together under self-quarantine measures according to company guidelines.
SK Hynix has currently closed the University building (SKHU), which serves as the training center. The hospital on the first floor of the SKHU building has also been disinfected and closed. However, it was confirmed that the trainees did not actually enter the factory premises, so the factory itself has not been closed.
