Jeongeup-si Implements 'Women Internship Program' as a Stepping Stone for Female Employment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] The Jeonbuk Jeongeup Women's New Work Center announced on the 18th that it will recruit new female interns in 2020 to help women whose careers have been interrupted due to marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare find employment.
The female internship program is a system aimed at improving quality of life and ensuring stable employment by supporting women with career interruptions who have been away from the workplace for a long time to adapt to working life.
When a participating company hires one female intern, it will receive a hiring subsidy of 800,000 KRW per month for three months.
Interns who are converted to full-time employees after the internship period and work for more than three months will receive an employment incentive of 600,000 KRW.
Eligible interns are women seeking jobs within the region, with priority given to low-income women, women with disabilities, marriage immigrant women, North Korean defectors, women-headed households, and single mothers.
Companies eligible for internship linkage must be enrolled in the four major social insurances, have five or more regular employees, and pay wages above the minimum wage as stipulated by law.
