[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Four YouTubers who staged a scene as if a COVID-19 patient had appeared at a train station and secretly filmed citizens with a hidden camera were caught by the police.
On the 17th, the Daegu Dongbu Police Station announced that four men in their 20s, including YouTuber A, were booked without detention on charges of violating the Minor Offenses Act.
A and others are suspected of filming two hidden camera videos for about two hours from 12 PM to 2 PM on the 29th of last month at Dongdaegu Station Plaza and the nearby subway station exit, staging a COVID-19 patient occurrence situation.
At that time, one of them pretended to be an infected person fleeing, and two others were dressed in white protective suits, pretending to chase the group.
According to the police, A and others filmed the video to check citizens' reactions.
They reportedly stated during the police investigation that they wanted to raise awareness about the dangers of COVID-19.
