View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Sang-do] Starting from the 15th, 700 nationals, including overseas Koreans, who returned from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China?the origin of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)?via the first and second chartered flights and have been in quarantine for 14 days, will be discharged over two days. Those who had been staying at the Police Human Resources Development Institute in Asan, Chungnam, and the National Human Resources Development Institute for Public Officials in Jincheon, Chungbuk, all tested negative in their final specimen tests conducted the day before.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 14th, 700 people?527 staying in Asan and 173 living in Jincheon?will be discharged over the two days of the 15th and 16th. On the 15th, 366 people who returned on the first flight on the 31st of last month will be released from quarantine. All 193 people in Asan and 173 in Jincheon will complete their quarantine.
Then, on the 16th, the remaining 334 people at the Asan facility will be discharged. They include 333 overseas Koreans who arrived on the second chartered flight on the 1st and one father who voluntarily entered the facility in Korea to care for two children who came without guardians.
On the morning of their discharge day, the overseas Koreans will have a brief farewell ceremony before boarding government-arranged buses to depart. They will be divided into five regions: Seoul, Daegu-Yeongnam, Chungbuk-Daejeon-Honam, Gyeonggi, and Chungnam, and will travel to regional terminals and train stations to return to their residences using public transportation. However, the government has decided not to disclose the specific locations where the overseas Koreans will disembark. Also, considering local residents' concerns, the use of private vehicles individually during discharge is not permitted.
The government plans to deploy 37 buses with 45 seats each for their transportation. However, after discharge, the government will not conduct any separate tracking investigations or provide additional support.

Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and Minister of the Interior and Safety Jin Young will attend the farewell ceremony held on the 15th. The government joint support team of 111 members, who have been supporting the overseas Koreans while living together at the Asan and Jincheon facilities, will be discharged on the 16th and 17th, one day after the overseas Koreans leave. The joint support team will carry out final disinfection inside and outside the buildings, waste disposal, and quarantine measures.
