Dongjak-gu Selected for Smart City Integrated Platform Infrastructure Project Competition
A total of 1.2 billion KRW, including national and local funds, invested to build a Smart City Integrated Platform by year-end... Easy to secure golden time in emergencies through linkage between Smart City Integrated Platform project and Urban Integrated Operation Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) announced on the 14th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '2020 Smart City Integrated Platform Infrastructure Project' competition.
After the application submission in January, first and second document screenings, and on-site evaluations, the final selection was made on the 12th of this month.
The district will invest a total project cost of 1.2 billion KRW (600 million KRW national funds, 600 million KRW district funds) to build the smart city integrated platform by the end of this year.
The smart city integrated platform is a project to support the establishment of a smart city safety network by linking Dongjak-gu CCTV Integrated Control Center with the 112 and 119 situation rooms, utilizing information systems in fields such as crime prevention, disaster prevention, and traffic.
Through this, it will be possible to respond quickly in emergencies by ▲supporting emergency video for the 112 center ▲supporting emergency dispatch for 112 and 119 ▲supporting wanted vehicle searches ▲supporting emergency response to disaster situations ▲protecting socially vulnerable groups (children and dementia elderly) ▲strengthening private security or public safety ▲supporting prevention of electronic anklet crime damage, among others.
Police officers receiving 112 reports can resolve incidents and accidents using nearby CCTV footage and information such as the suspect's escape route, while firefighters can secure the golden time for fire suppression and rescue before arriving at the scene by receiving real-time CCTV footage and traffic information.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Future City Division (☎820-2906).
Park Yeon-su, head of the Future City Division, stated, "Through this project, we will implement a safe smart city that can more strongly protect residents' lives and property."
