Kim Du-kwan: "Korean Party talks about Bong Joon-ho Memorial? Start with sincere reflection first"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Kim Du-kwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the Liberty Korea Party, saying, "They need to start with sincere reflection."
On the 12th, Kim posted on his Facebook, "They gagged the cultural industry, which is set to enter the global market, with a blacklist and labeled films that highlighted the seriousness of polarization as 'leftist communist films.' Now, they are even talking about the Bong Joon-ho Memorial Hall and Dongsan," he said.
He added, "Considering the high quality of 'Parasite' and its relentless exposure of the unfortunate realities of our society, I cannot help but feel ashamed as a politician," and said, "Everyone, regardless of party, should reflect and unite to resolve polarization."
Kim continued, "Instead of the far-right Liberty Korea Party, instead of politics filled with harsh words and hostile confrontation, I hope mature democracy based on dialogue and compromise between ruling and opposition parties for resolving polarization and improving people's livelihoods will blossom in the National Assembly."
