Installation and Possession of 53 Cameras at 45 Public Facilities Including Public Offices, Libraries, and Welfare Centers... Efforts to Alleviate Residents' Anxiety with Masks, Hand Sanitizers, and Disinfection at Multi-Use Facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) has fully installed a total of 53 thermal imaging cameras at 45 public facilities within the district to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Starting on the 30th of last month with the installation of thermal imaging cameras at the west and south entrances on the first floor of Seongdong-gu Office to check the body temperature of visitors, from the 5th of this month, 47 cameras have been installed at 45 locations including 17 community service centers, district libraries, welfare centers, sports and cultural centers, with 6 additional cameras held in reserve, operating a total of 53 cameras.
In addition, all entrances other than those equipped with thermal imaging cameras have been completely closed to alleviate the concerns of residents using the facilities.
Currently, in multi-use public spaces such as public facilities, efforts to block virus entry are being made through not only the installation of thermal imaging cameras but also regular disinfection, provision of hand sanitizers, masks, thermometers, and posting of preventive guidelines.
Since the 28th of last month, the district has formed a ‘Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters’ operating a 24-hour emergency response system. The screening clinic, equipped with a separate independent building and a mobile X-RAY bus, is currently serving 152 residents. The district is conducting comprehensive inspections of lodging facilities, special disinfection of over 400 locations including public facilities, daycare centers, and senior centers, installing Chinese language information booths, distributing approximately 270,000 masks, and providing hand sanitizers, taking full-scale measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the area.
