Chonnam National University Holds Win-Win Cooperation Council Workshop
Seeking Ways to Build and Collaborate on Community Networks for Regional Innovation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chonnam National University has embarked on a full-scale initiative for mutual cooperation with the local community as a practical step following the 'Local Community Forum.'
On the 11th, Chonnam National University announced that it will hold a win-win cooperation council workshop on the 12th at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Gwangju Metropolitan City to explore ways to build local community networks and cooperation for regional innovation.
The workshop will be attended by members and officials of the win-win cooperation council, consisting of nine universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions including Chonnam National University, three local governments including Gwangju City and Jeonnam Province, and six public institutions including the Korea Rural Community Corporation located in Naju Innovation City.
At the workshop, thematic presentations will be given on "Building an Innovation Platform for Regional Revitalization: The Role of Universities" (Joo Jeongmin, Director of Planning and Coordination at Chonnam National University) and "Honam Region Universities-Local Governments-Public Institutions-Industry Cooperative Employment Activation Project" (Jo Seongyong, Head of Chonnam National University Regional Leading University Development Project Group).
Following this, discussions will be held on ways to activate networks of cooperation among regional universities, public institutions, and companies for regional innovation.

A Chonnam National University official said, "This workshop is a practical step following the 'Local Community Forum' hosted by the Gwangju-Jeonnam University Presidents' Council held last December," adding, "Regional universities empathize with the necessity of mutual cooperation with the local community and are actively participating."
