On the 10th, Woowa Brothers announced that they signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement for specialized education for restaurant self-employed at Sejong University’s Gwanggaeto Hall, attended by Lee Hee-chan, Dean of Sejong University’s College of Hotel and Tourism Management, Baek Seon-woong, Director of Woowa Brothers, and other officials.
This industry-academia cooperation aims to apply Sejong University’s excellent educational programs to Baemin Academy to help improve the practical skills of restaurant self-employed and their decision-making and future management capabilities as business owners. They will learn systematic and professional systems used in hotel buffets and large restaurants, which can be utilized by self-employed entrepreneurs for menu development and service quality improvement.
Sejong University’s College of Hotel and Tourism Management boasts outstanding faculty and excellent curriculum with research capabilities so remarkable that it ranked first domestically and 34th globally in the '2019 QS World University Rankings by Subject' announced last year by the UK’s global university evaluation agency QS.
Through the industry-academia cooperation with Sejong University, Baemin Academy plans to design new training programs and publicly release them in April. In particular, this training will include not only knowledge and practical know-how about overall restaurant management but also the latest research content that can gauge the future direction of the restaurant industry, such as drone food delivery services and deep learning big data analysis.
Baek Seon-woong, Director of Woowa Brothers, said, "Baemin Academy is a program designed to help restaurant owners, who face rapidly changing business environments and fierce competition, acquire more systematic and professional management skills and ultimately help customers receive high-quality food and services. We also plan to establish an online education system in addition to the current offline training programs."
