The district announced that Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol of Dongdaemun-gu was selected as the winner in the Consumer Administration category at the ‘2020 Korea Consumer Awards’ hosted by the Korea Consumer Association, held on the 11th at the Korea Press Center, for the 'Dongdaemun-gu Together with Youth Employment ‘All-In-One Project’.'
With this, Mayor Yoo has become the recipient of the ‘Korea Consumer Awards’ in the Consumer Administration category for three consecutive years.
The ‘Korea Consumer Awards,’ hosted by the Korea Consumer Association, is an award established to discover companies and individuals (organizations) with competitiveness, reliability, and public interest who strive to enhance consumer rights and to encourage continuous policy implementation.
The 'Dongdaemun-gu Together with Youth Employment ‘All-In-One Project,’ which made this award possible, is a job model designed to solve the prolonged youth job search difficulties caused by the economic downturn and to increase the success rate of youth startup companies lacking experience by addressing employment and startup preparation stages through to success all at once.
Through the ‘All-In-One Project,’ the district is conducting direct job projects such as the 19Day and Youth Food Startup Incubating projects, infrastructure construction projects to secure youth activity spaces such as Gyeongdong Market Youth Mall and Campus Town, and professional education and training projects such as Youth Employment HaeDream and Maker Growth Support programs, fostering skilled personnel and creating new jobs.
Additionally, the district was selected as the grand prize winner in the job creation category at the ‘16th Korea Local Government Management Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Hankook Ilbo, and will attend the awards ceremony held on the 28th at COEX.
Previously, in November last year, the ‘All-In-One Project’ was recognized as an innovative administrative service planned and produced in collaboration with residents, winning first place nationwide in the general collaboration category of the ‘2019 Administrative Service Co-production Best Practices’ and receiving the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Award.
