New Coronavirus Family Cases 25-27, Total 43 Contacts in Siheung, Gyeonggi (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The three family members who were confirmed as the 25th to 27th domestic cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) on the 9th were found to have contacted a total of 43 people while moving between a supermarket and a restaurant located in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi Province, where they reside.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced the results of the epidemiological investigation on the 25th to 27th patients on the 10th. The 27th patient (37, female, Chinese nationality) is the daughter-in-law of the 25th patient (73, female, Korean nationality), who was confirmed positive earlier on the 9th. The 26th patient (male, 51, Korean nationality), her husband, works in the trading business and stayed in Guangdong Province, China, from November last year, entering Incheon Airport via Macau on the 31st of last month.
The 27th patient had a cough symptom starting from the 24th of last month while staying in China, and after entering Korea, she used taxis, restaurants, and medical institutions until her quarantine on the 9th, contacting a total of 32 people domestically. On the day of entry, around 9 p.m., she took a taxi to her home in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, and stayed at home all day on February 1st and 2nd. On the 3rd, she visited a restaurant in Siheung (Taeyang 38 Years Tradition Geu Yetnal Son Jjajang, 180-3 Anhyeon-dong) by car around 7:30 p.m.
On the 4th, she stayed home all day, and on the 5th, she visited a medical institution in Siheung (Shincheon Union Hospital Screening Clinic) by car. After returning home by car, she stayed at home from the 6th to the 8th, was confirmed positive, and was transferred to Anseong Hospital of Gyeonggi Medical Center. It was confirmed that the 27th patient contacted a total of 32 people.
The 26th patient visited a medical institution in Siheung (Shincheon Union Hospital Screening Clinic) by car with his mother, the 25th patient, around 9 a.m. on the 7th. Afterwards, he stopped by a supermarket (Elmart Siheung Branch) by car and then returned home. On the 8th, feeling a sore throat, he visited the medical institution in Siheung (Shincheon Union Hospital Screening Clinic) with his mother by car around 2 p.m., returned home by car, and was confirmed positive on the 9th, then transferred to Anseong Hospital of Gyeonggi Medical Center.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters stated, "The 26th and 27th patients did not visit Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, and did not visit hospitals or markets during their stay in Guangdong Province. They also stated that they did not consume wild animals and have no memory of contact with confirmed patients."

The 25th patient visited a supermarket in Siheung (Maehwa Discount Mart) on foot on the 5th and returned home on foot. She stayed home all day on the 6th. On the morning of the 7th, around 9 a.m., she visited a medical institution in Siheung (Shincheon Union Hospital Screening Clinic) by car, then stopped by a supermarket (Elmart Siheung Branch) by car before returning home. On the 8th, she visited the medical institution in Siheung (Shincheon Union Hospital Screening Clinic) by car around 2 p.m., returned home by car, was confirmed positive, and was transferred to Bundang Seoul National University Hospital on the 9th. It was confirmed that she contacted a total of 11 people from one day before symptom onset until quarantine.
