The Korea Federation of Banks Donates 80,000 Masks for Elderly Living Alone
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] The Korea Federation of Banks has decided to donate 80,000 masks worth 200 million KRW to elderly people living alone to prevent the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
On the 10th, the Federation announced that on behalf of its 22 member institutions, it plans to deliver masks worth 200 million KRW to the elderly through the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly Living Alone to prevent the novel coronavirus.
Since 2018, the Federation has been leading efforts to support elderly people living alone in cooperation with the Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly Living Alone to raise social awareness about protecting the elderly living alone. This support was also promoted as part of expanding social interest in elderly people living alone.

Kim Tae-young, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks, said, “We hope this mask support will help prevent infection damage among elderly people who are relatively vulnerable to the novel coronavirus,” and added, “The banking sector plans to continuously provide necessary preventive supplies to vulnerable groups and emergency financial support to affected companies to ensure this situation is resolved quickly.”
