[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) Volunteer Disaster Prevention Corps has voluntarily taken action to eradicate the novel coronavirus.
The Eunpyeong-gu Volunteer Disaster Prevention Corps is practicing disaster prevention activities, which is the fundamental purpose of the corps, by conducting preemptive disinfection activities at public facilities such as senior centers, welfare centers, and daycare centers to respond to infections.
On the 6th, the Volunteer Disaster Prevention Corps received disinfection supplies distributed by the district office to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, including disinfectant sprayers, disinfectant chemicals, protective suits, and gloves. After receiving training on how to dilute the disinfectant, where to disinfect, and how to spray the chemicals, they carried out disinfection at nearby daycare centers and comprehensive welfare centers.
Going forward, the Eunpyeong-gu Volunteer Disaster Prevention Corps, organized by each neighborhood, will directly conduct disinfection upon requests from public facilities located in the area. They plan to thoroughly prepare for virus prevention through continuous disinfection activities rather than one-time efforts.
In addition to disinfection activities to eradicate the novel coronavirus, they will continue to conduct disinfection activities to prevent infectious diseases after natural disasters such as summer floods and typhoons.
