Gwangjin-gu Seeks Location for 'Open Childcare Room' Installation
Need for Dedicated Space Over 33㎡... Remodeling Costs Supported Up to 40 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is looking for installation spaces for the ‘Open Childcare Room,’ a cooperative childcare space where local parents can take care of their children together.
The target installation spaces are resident shared spaces within apartment complexes or religious facilities, multi-use facilities, etc., that can provide a dedicated space of 33㎡ or more free of charge.
If selected as an installation space, up to 40 million KRW will be supported for remodeling costs. After establishment, the Gwangjin-gu Childcare Support Center will assign dedicated personnel and manage all aspects of the Open Childcare Room, including operating play programs for infants and toddlers.
The Open Childcare Room is available to any household with children aged six or younger in the Gwangjin-gu area and is expected to become a community space that alleviates the childcare burden on local parents and resolves isolated childcare.
For applications to install Open Childcare Room spaces and other detailed information, please contact the Gwangjin-gu Office Family Welfare Division (☎450-7543).
