K-water's 'World Water Day' Commemorative Video Contest... Total Prize Money 15.6 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Water Resources Corporation is holding a video contest from the 6th to the 25th to raise awareness about the importance of water in celebration of 'World Water Day.'
World Water Day is a commemorative day designated by the United Nations (UN) on March 22 every year to spread awareness worldwide about the importance of water and water scarcity.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and hosted by Korea Water Resources Corporation, this contest is open to all citizens under the theme 'Water and Climate Change, Our Future.'
Participants can create and submit videos expressing water-centered ideas for responding to climate change, such as water conservation, tap water use, low-carbon living, and energy transition.
Submissions can be in any format, including advertisements, animations, original creations, vlogs, solo broadcasts, dance, music videos, etc., with a duration between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Entries should be sent as digital video files along with the application form via email to ilovekwater@naver.com.
In the first round of judging, creativity, public interest, information delivery, and expressiveness will be evaluated, and the top 24 videos will be published on YouTube. The second round will be an online public vote, and the winners will be selected based on the combined scores of both rounds. The final 12 winning videos will be announced on the official blog of Korea Water Resources Corporation on the 13th of next month.
Prizes are divided into 'university students and general adults' and 'high school students and below.' The grand prize awards 5 million KRW for university students and general adults, and 2 million KRW for high school students and below, with a total prize pool of 15.6 million KRW.
